OK, so by this afternoon, the exchange rate of death in two days was 40-0 in favour of
Israel. But now for the Gaza story you won't be hearing from anyone else in the next few
hours.
It's about land. The Israelis of Sederot are coming under rocket fire from the
Palestinians of Gaza and now the Palestinians are getting their comeuppance. Sure. But
wait, how come all those Palestinians -- all 1.5 million -- are crammed into Gaza in the
first place? Well, their families once lived, didn't they, in what is now called Israel?
And got chucked out -- or fled for their lives -- when the Israeli state was created.
And -- a drawing in of breath is now perhaps required -- the people who lived in Sederot
in early 1948 were not Israelis, but Palestinian Arabs. . . .

[When Shlomo Sand's book The Invention of the Jewish People was published it caused a
largely a storm of outrage here in the United States among the few who read it. It was a
bestseller in Israel, though mostly reviled, and where it was reviewed in the American
corporate press the response was deeply hostile. Its central argument holds that the
Jews of Europe, the Ashkenazim, are largely descendants of peoples who converted to
Judaism in the distant past and that the claim that all Jews descend from ancient
Israelites is false. Therefore the contention that European Jews are reclaiming ancient
rights to their homeland in what is now Israel is a false claim. Moreover, the peoples
now known as "Palestinians" are in all likelihood much more closely descended
genetically from the ancient Israelites but who in the course of history converted for
one reason or another either to Christianity or to Islam, and who therefore have a just
claim to the land.--Paul Atwood, "

[Twenty-four states are now requiring statements pledging not to boycott Israel from
those citizens and organizations that receive government funding or even seek local
government employment. Two bills in Congress also seek to define as anti-Semitism any
criticism of Israel. On December 12th 2017 the Anti-Semitism Awareness Act was approved
by the House of Representatives with 402 affirmative votes and only two
libertarian-leaning congressmen voting "no." The Israel Anti-Boycott Act that is also
currently making its way through the Congress would far exceed what is happening at the
state level and would set a new standard for deference to Israeli interests on the part
of the national government. It would criminalize any U.S. citizen "engaged in interstate
or foreign commerce" who supports a boycott of Israel or who even goes about "requesting
the furnishing of information" regarding it, with penalties enforced through amendments
of two existing laws, the Export Administration Act of 1979 and the Export-Import Act of
1945, that include potential fines of between $250,000 and $1 million and up to 20 years
in prison.--Philip Giraldi, The

[Israel consistently acts as a criminal state. It has an ongoing policy of ethnic
cleansing against the Palestinians, which also involves the establishment of illegal
colonies on militarily occupied land. It uses lethal violence against unarmed
protesters, as the recent massacres along the Gaza border have prominently demonstrated.
It imprisons large numbers of Palestinians including children for acts as simple as
protesting Israeli violence. It goes after civilian targets in its wars against Gaza and
Lebanon. It purposely destroys civilian infrastructure on the West Bank and Gaza. It
runs a regime that segregates out non-Jews from Jews in terms of housing, job
preferences, and benefits and tries to cover up the resulting apartheid reality with a

[Herzl replied -- and quickly, in a letter on March 19. His letter was probably the first
response by a leader of the Zionist movement to a cogent Palestinian objection to its
embryonic plans for Palestine. Herzl simply ignored the letter's basic thesis, that
Palestine was already inhabited by a population that would not agree to be supplanted.
Although Herzl had visited Palestine once, in an 1898 visit timed to coincide with that
of German Kaiser Wilhelm II, he (like most early European Zionists) had not much
